JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Seafreight Procurement Manager negotiates, coordinates and monitor all the negotiations handled in Asia Pacific with our shipping line partners.
Maintain and develop the relationship with our key partners (shipping lines)
Bring and develop the relationship with new partners
Determine allocation per route, shipping line, trade, accounts
Work on the buying strategy with overall volumes
Develop the VID schemes with our key partners and achieve the results
Cooperate on the seafreight tenders
Coverage is for all asia with a special focus on China, Vietnam and Bangladesh
Provide competitive buying rates to existing and potential businesses.
Others assigned by direct line manager and regional manager
Provide yield and volume analysis
Forecast the needs in low and peak seasons
Management of the procurement team and / or coordination with each Bansard Office in Asia
REQUIREMENTS
Degree holder in Business Administration / Economics / Logistics / Supply Chain or related disciplines.
Minimum 10 years of relevant overall industry experience, including at minimum of 3 years in a shipping line; preferably from a multinational working environment.
With strong knowledge of the ocean freight industry, including procurement and capacity management knowledge for ocean freight; with Carrier background is a plus.
Excellent network with carriers at local and top managerial level.
Expertise in specific trade lanes: Europe, Transpacific, Australia, North Africa, Middle East.
Strong operation understanding and capability to manage changes and unexpected events.
With an international mindset and exhibits great cross-cultural sensitivity.

Proven experience in methodology and guideline writing.
Proficient user in MS Office especially in MS Excel.
Teamworking and hands on attitude are necessary
At ease with IT tools. Cargowise knowledge is a plus.
High proficiency in written and spoken English.
