Bansard International Vietnam and Thailand Director: Thomas LORMIER, boarded and visited the MARCO POLO, the former largest and most advanced sea freighter ship on Earth, during a courtesy visit organized by the company's longtime partners: CMA CGM and APL.
It goes without saying that Bansard Vietnam is now a well-established entity in the sea freight industry in Asia. Further proof of this Thomas LORMIER’s presence amongst the Vietnamese leaders of the freight forwarding industry, on JAN 11th, aboard the beast of a ship that the MARCO POLO is. The visit took place in the gigantic Vietnamese harbour of Ba Ria-Vung Tau, in an effort to strengthen the relationship between the hosts and their many assets and key accounts interests in Asia.

The MARCO POLO was, at a time, the largest container ship in the world before being recently overtaken and ultimately beaten to the first spot by his famous Danish counterpart: the MAERSK Triple-E. Indeed, its 58m beam, 399m length and 20,568 TEUs carrying capacity of the latter give it a slight but decisive edge over the GMA CGM’s flagship’s 53m beam, 396m length and 17,120 TEUs carrying capacity.
The hosts of this special event, CMA CGM and APL, represent the third largest transportation and shipping company currently in operation. They have key accounts interests in Bansard International Group, which is a proof of how valuable Bansard’s name has grown up to this day. This event was the opportunity for both parties to get to know each other.
