China tightens up supervision on Medical Products Exports

Recently, China released a new regulation to stepped-up export control for medical supplies amid the COVID-19 crisis, thereby ensure product quality.

China tightens up supervision on Medical Products Exports

To accelerate the process of exporting crucial medical supplies to the world, while strictly controlling product quality, the Government of China has issued a new statement to strengthen control measures for the Chinese export of medical equipment.

Implementing on April 1, 2020, only companies having China's Medical Equipment Product Registration Certificate and registered from National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) are authorized to export anti-epidemic relevant products.

The new rules apply to all exporters of medical products, including COVID-19 test kitsmedical face masksprotective clothingventilators, and infrared thermometers.  

At the customs, the companies must provide a document, in either print or digital form, declaring that the products have obtained China's medical device product registration certificate and meanwhile meet the standards of the country at the destination.

The Chinese customs and ports authorities are vigorously enforcing this regulation and inspecting all productsDespite the ongoing battle with the outbreak in China, the Ministry of Commerce said China has not and never would restrict the export of medical supplies and will continue to provide the supplies it has to help other nations fight the virus.
